Hello,
I am an artist and a professor working on a documentary project about clouds, specifically in your region.
I am coming to Colorado in October and was hoping to interview a pilot about weather patterns over the Sangre de Cristo range. Can you think of anyone that might be willing to talk with me? I will be in the area between Oct 9-14.
If so, I’d be happy to forward more information about the project.
Thank you so much for your help.
Sincerely,
Jana Harper

I am sure we can find you some cool people to talk to.
There is a Micro Weather system specialist here in the valley that you should talk to: Margret Lamb. She is amazing.
Take care,
Mark Colman

Hey Mark,
I was able to get in touch with Margaret Lamb. Thanks for your advice!
Any leads on pilots who might be willing to talk with me next week when I’m in town?
Thanks!
Jana

Glad you got in touch with Margaret! She is great!
I will talk to you of course…I am a pilot, my Brother Steve is too deaf to talk on the phone, but he flies a bunch around here. Then there are also a number of pilots between Taos and here we can get phone numbers for…
How far up and down the Sangre’s are you looking? All the way to Santa Fe? Or as far north as Salida?
Come by and we can call them for you…
Take care,
Mark

Hey Mark,
Thanks for taking time with us yesterday. It was great to meet you and tour your shop.
I was conscious of how long we were there and was nervous about holding you up, but I was really intrigued by what you said about examining “truth” from a shamanistic perspective. I’d really like to hear more about that.
Have you read any of those Martin Prechtel books? He really helped me understand what it means to be a liaison between the natural and man-made world. It seems like, as pilots, you guys have a really unique perspective on harnessing natural powers like wind…
We were also wondering if we could come back over and film Steve doing that trick with the air compressor.
Let me know if you guys are around the next couple days…
Jana

Hi Jana,
I am heading out of town in a few minutes for my work of the West on the Medicine Wheel. I probably will be getting lunch shortly if you want to meet before I leave.
I am sure it would be okay to visit some more with Steve. As you probably aware, his hearing won’t allow him to talk on a phone, but you can text him.
We fly because of Bernoulli…He was all about the energy of flowing liquids and air is a type of liquid.
Take care,
Mark
